A SAFE PLACE TNR

OUR MISSION IS TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY AND PROMOTE A VALUE SYSTEM THAT PRACTICES COMPASSION AND RESPECT FOR ALL ANIMALS.
AS KEEPERS OF THE WORLD, WE SEEK TO ALLEVIATE ANIMAL NEGLECT THROUGH ADOPTION, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, TRAP NEUTER AND RETURN, AND ANIMAL PROTECTION.
What is TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is an effective and humane approach to managing under-socialized cat populations. This method involves humanely trapping community cats, neutering or spaying them, and then returning them to their outdoor homes. TNR, brings local cat populations to a healthy level over time, prevents the births of homeless kittens, and helps under-socialized cats live healthier lives.
How does it work?
1. Humanely trap under-socialized or stray cats
2. Take the cat to the veterinarian where they will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, and receive an ear tip.
3. Return the cat to its original location.
What's an ear-tip?
An ear-tip is a small, surgically removed portion of a cats ear. The method of ear-tipping indicates to both TNR providers, and to the community, that the cat has been spayed or neutered and vaccinated.
What are the Benefits of TNR?
1. Over time the local cat population is humanely reduced through TNR practices.
2. TNR improves the quality of life for under-socialized cats, by keeping them healthy through vaccination, and making them less prone to viruses and illnesses contracted through fighting and reproduction.
3. Rescues and shelters that focus on rehoming cats see an eventual reduction in intake.
4. Human communities coexist more fluidly with under-socialized cats when the population is stable.
5. TNR reduces fighting, spraying, roaming, and other nuisance behaviors.
6. TNR prevents some animal cruelty. It is against the law in every state to trap, dump or purposely harm under-socialized or domestic cats.

WHAT WE
DO
- Humanely trap under-socialized cats and transport them to our partnering vet clinic.
- The cats are either spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped and provided any other vet service we request.
- The cats are returned to their original location to lead out healthier, happier lives.
- If we deem a cat to be domestic stray, we will do everything in our power to either find the owner, or place the cat in a foster or adoptive home. Our intake is VERY limited.
- If a human caretaker needs resources or advice on feeding, watering and housing their under-socialized cats we are happy to provide assistance.
WHAT WE
DON'T DO
-We are not a cat relocation service. Not only is it inhumane and usually will result in the death of the animal, it is against the law and an animal cruelty misdemeanor.
-Our primary goal is to help caretakers of both under-socialized and domesticated cats whose situation has spiraled out of control. Do not call or email asking us to trap and relocate an under-socialized cat who is hanging around your property because your call will not be returned.
